News of the World has reported that Cheryl Cole spends £100,000 a year on personal grooming; a small proportion of what she is reported to earn. Cheryl Cole has just signed a lucrative deal with L’Oreal this year, has a solid income from Girls Aloud, more than enough income from advertising and PR deals and it has been reported that she will earn £1.2 million from X Factor this year.

Women are criticising how much Cheryl Cole is spending on her own grooming, labelling her as selfish and vain. I think differently, this is her business, her looks contribute to her earnings, grooming is an expense for her. Cheryl Cole is providing an income for others i.e., her hairdresser, her stylist, her makeup artists, her dentist.

Instead, Cheryl Cole should make us all feel good as at least we can tell ourselves that we could look as great as her if we had a £100,000 to invest in our looks per year!
